Our Enchanting Visit to Two Kay's Flower Farm

This August, we ventured to Two Kay Flower Farm in the picturesque lower Valley of Kalispell, Montana. This farm is a labor of love run by mother-daughter duo Marlene and Crystal. Their journey began just four years ago when they transformed Marlene's vegetable garden into a sprawling four-acre paradise on the farm their family has owned for five generations.

Now Two Kay Flower Farm provides farm-fresh blooms to local flower shops, offers weekly bouquets through Milk Movers, and hosts an array of events—adding a touch of floral magic to every occasion.

We had the unique opportunity to tour the farm in August, just as the blooms were reaching their peak beauty. Crystal and Marlene welcomed us with open arms and invited us to craft our own beautiful flower bouquets. Crystal shared the inspiring story of their farm’s evolution—from their initial flower stand during the pandemic to a flourishing 4-acre enterprise complete with three greenhouses to extend the growing season.

The farm has become a family affair, with Crystal’s husband taking on the role of mechanic and fence builder and their daughter lending a hand with weeding. Each morning, the flowers are carefully harvested, and Marlene delivers them while Crystal heads off to her day job. Evenings are reserved for workshops, golden hour photo shoots, and splendid farm-to-table dinners.

As we wandered through the fields, Crystal demonstrated the art of cutting flowers to encourage new blooms. The dahlia house, with its dazzling array of colors and varieties, left us in awe.

Inspired by the farm’s beauty, we set off to create our own bouquets. We basked in the joy of the moment—golden sunlight casting a warm glow over the vibrant blooms and our laughter echoing through the fields.
