Winter Skin Care Tips: Moisturizing

Winter Facial Moisturizing

Thanks so much for sticking with us for our 4 part Winter Skin Essential Tips. Step 3 is probably the most important of these steps, moisturizing! Moisturizing not only replenishes much needed hydration to your face, but it can protect it as well!

  • Skin needs moisture (oils, butters) and hydration (water, Aloe Vera, hydrosols).
  • Cold, dry air and indoor heating stress and weaken our skin, robbing it of its hydration.
  • Facial creams create a barrier, providing moisture and protecting your skin.
  • Avoid moisturizers full of water, as they will cause your skin to dry out quicker. Standard moisturizers carry 70% of water base and only 30% of moisture base. Their high water content evaporates so fast that is dries out your skin more than the 30% moisture provides, leaving your skin dry and wanting after a couple of hours.
  • Protect your fine capillaries further by applying a layer of powder on your face before you leave the house, a tip European women grow up with. It simply adds another layer of protection for your skin.

  • Look for a rich moisturizer to protect fragile winter skin. Kettle Care creams carry in general 70% of oils and butters and only 30% of Aloe Vera or hydrosols, providing adequate moisture and a slow evaporation effect due to the protective Aloe Vera.
  • At night the body is in repair mode, as is your skin.To give it the best chance for restoring and rejuvenation, use crèmes rich in Vitamin E, like our Essential Rose Crème. Rose Absolute is packed with antioxidants which reduce inflammation and provide strengthening Vitamins A & C.
  • Frost and wind bitten skin? Apply a thick layer of our Essential Rose Crème after cleansing as an Après Ski Mask and leave on. You will feel its soothing relief within minutes. It is one of the best après skiing treats for glowing skin that we have discovered over the years.

Kettle Care has many cremes to choose from, with something to cater to anyone's needs. Whether they are oily, sensitive, dry or mature.
