Our Environmental Barrier Lip Balm with Lysine was no exception. When we created this now-best-selling product, we set out to formulate the ideal lip balm—the only lip balm you’ll ever need. We started by lining up all of the lip balms we had in our pockets, Kettle Care® products and competitors’. Each lip balm had its own advantages, but none felt quite complete.

So we asked ourselves: “What if you could only carry one?

When we posed that question to the men in our lives, they laughed and admitted: “We only use lip balm when our lips are shredded.” And that became our starting point.

We began with an infusion of Chamomile, Calendula, Comfrey, and Lemonbalm, a botanical blend chosen to heal, soothe, and deeply hydrate. Then came Jojoba, Coconut, and Avocado oils, the kind of nourishing ingredients that make your lips breathe a sigh of relief.

But we didn’t stop there. We fortified our formula with Neem to combat bacteria, Melissa to fight viruses, Lysine to help prevent cold sores, and Zinc to shield from sun and wind.

Still, something was missing. A spark. A finishing touch.
That’s when Peppermint oil joined the mix - cool, refreshing, and revitalizing. It boosts circulation, helping the balm sink deeper and keep your lips soft and hydrated all day long.
