A Fall Check-In: What Does Your Skin Need This Season?

If you’ve been with us for a while, you know we’re big believers in listening to your skin.

And right now, it’s probably trying to tell you something.

The days are getting shorter, the mornings are getting cooler, and that beautiful summer humidity is slowly disappearing. You might be dreaming of reaching for your favorite sweater again and your skin may need a little extra moisture in between seasons.

For many of us, this is when we start noticing those little changes: our cheeks feel a bit tighter, our hands get dry, our lips need a little extra attention, or our skin just doesn’t feel quite as soft as it did a few weeks ago.
That’s completely normal.

Your skin is adjusting, too.

Fall feels like an invitation to take a little better care of ourselves.
Maybe that means swapping your lightweight summer moisturizer for something a little richer.

Maybe it's adding a nourishing lotion to your evening routine or giving your hands and body some extra love after a day outside. And maybe it's simply taking an extra minute when you apply your skincare.
A few things to keep in mind this season
  • Keep moisturizing. Your skin may need more nourishment as the air gets drier, so don't be afraid to layer on a little extra.
  • Be gentle. If your skin feels dry or sensitive, this isn't the time to overdo it with scrubs and exfoliants. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is simplify.
  • Keep wearing your SPF.Whether it is 80 degrees and sunny or 68 and cloudy those sun rays still penetrate.
Pay attention. More than anything, notice what your skin is asking for. It will usually tell you.

And enjoy the season.

There is so much to love about fall, the first chilly morning, the changing leaves, a warm cup of something in your hands, and the feeling of settling back into familiar routines.

Your skincare routine can be part of that, too. So as summer fades and fall settles in, take a little time to care for your skin. Nothing complicated. Nothing overwhelming.

Just good ingredients, a little consistency, and a few quiet moments for yourself.

We’ll be doing the same.

Warmly,

The Kettle Care Botanicals Team
